Sandeep Acharya, the winner of Indian Idol 2 died at the age of 29 at a private hospital in Gurgaon. The playback singer - known for his melodic voice and pitch was one of the known faces of music industry. Though he lived a short life but with his golden voice was able to leave imprints on the minds of young and old audiences alike. The playback singer is survived by his wife Namrata and a month-old daughter.
Born and brought up at Bikaner in Rajasthan, Acharya was very popular and fascinating singer who started his journey by winning singing reality show Indian Idol 2 in 2006. He was a talented singer made their presence felt with enchanting voice. After the Indian Idol success, he had participated in TV show Jalwa Four 2 Ka 1. The young lad made many fans in very short time. Soon after winning the show, Acharya released his first album ‘Mere Saath Saara Jahaan’. The singer went onto become India’s one of the most successful voice at the very age. “He was supposed to release his new album ‘O Sanam Tere Bina’ mid-December,” Akshay said.
Acharya, born on February 4, 1984 was youngest in the family of two sisters and a brother. Suffering from jaundice he died on 15 December 2013 at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon near New Delhi. No one had imagined his sudden exit from the world as only a day before he was at a wedding in Bikaner when his situation worsened and his relatives had to rush him to the hospital, where he died. His last rites were performed at his hometown in Bikaner. Local parliamentarian Arjun Ram Meghwal expressed condolence, saying the music world had lost a bright star. Married last year, Acharya is survived by wife and a child.
